Why Choose Us
A companion pet can bring immeasurable love, joy and happiness to their family, as they are often considered a member of the family. When a beloved pet dies, the loss of that adored friend can be devastating. During this time of loss, pet parents often seek the same level of care, respect and dignity for their pet as they do for their human family members.
Unfortunatley for decades and even still to this day, there is a significant lack of Federal & State regulation in place to guide and oversee the operations of pet funeral and pet cremation providers. With this lack of oversight the potential for unethical practices can and do occur. Service levels, operational practices and standards vary greatly from pet cremation provider to pet cremation provider with no assurance in quality. Not only is this extremely concerning but it is very challenging for pet parents to find reputable pet loss providers that will care for their deceased pet with the respect and dignity their companion pet deserves.
Pet Passages is recognized as the leading authority within the pet loss profession and not only has Pet Passages met the above challenge, we are committed to our profession with our main goal being to constantly raise the bar and be the standard bearer of quality for pet loss professionals nationwide.
Variety of options and price points
After a recommendation from a friend, and seeing a feature story on NH Chronicle, I called Pet Passages in June to make preliminary arrangements for Argo, knowing his time with us was limited. We had to say farewell to our brave, loving and loyal friend earlier this week. The owner, Stephen Purdy, arranged for one of his staff (a very compassionate young man named Scott, freely gives enveloping hugs) to come to the house. They will also pick up from vet clinics, or you can drop your pet off at their facility, have a viewing, or even a memorial service and observe the cremation. Variety of options and price points, depending on your wishes and comfort levels. We wanted private cremation, but no service. Other choices are semi-private from which you get mixed ashes, or communal, no ashes returned. Stephen called us three days later (their goal is within 72 hours) to say Argo was ready. Ashes are returned in an appropriately sized chest/urn. Inside is a black velvet bag embroidered in gold with "Until We Meet Again at the Rainbow Bridge". They do offer other keepsake and figurine urns that can be purchased separately on the website. Private cremation package includes a certificate of cremation, with your pet's tracking number. Similar system that is used for human cremations, to make sure there are no mix ups. Also included is another card with a paw print stamp keepsake and the Rainbow Bridge story. I can never read beyond the first few lines without lots of tissues, even on a good day. Hope not to need their services again any time soon, but when we do, this is where we shall go.
My cat was put to sleep due to cancer. The day I picked up the ashes, the woman was very kind and caring. Handed me some brochures and wanted to know if I had any questions. The box I received was very elegant, it is displayed in a prominent area. I had another cat cremated and those ashes were put into a metal container. It was okay, but not like the box.
Mike I would call and thank you personally but I might break down on tears if I did...so I am emailing to let you know the urn came today and it is beautiful...the names in the spots you suggested couldn't be more perfect!! I literally have had bad dreams almost every night this week as to how it would look...1 night I dreamt it came as a beer stein with a big green engraved heart in the center of the 2 paws....lol. I am so humbly grateful for your help and feel better knowing my Simba can rest in peace now. Pam
You can be very proud.
We received the urn for our little boy, Sur, today. I just wanted to tell you again, I also called and left a message, how pleased we were with the urn and the very professional service of your company and staff. Sur deserved the very best and he got it! I cried when I saw the urn. Thank you so very much. Beautiful, what a great service you provide, you can be very proud.

Pet is Family Too
Pet Passages truly takes into account that a pet is family too and treats their death as such. We recently moved to the area and found them by googling and taking our chances but we are happy we did. Upon arrival with our cat, we were directed to the viewing room to lay her on a pillow where she remained while we made the arrangements necessary. There was no pressure to have anything more than we desired for her. After the arrangements were finalized we were told we could pay now or be billed if that was easier as well as making arrangements to pick up the cremains either from them or at our vet's office. We went back to the viewing room to say a final goodbye and I lost it. Rather than intruding, the gentleman quietly closed the doors to the viewing room and allowed us all the time we needed. Respectful and courteous, I will return to them when our next pet is in need.
The Smith Family
I would like to thank Pet Passages and Candy at the Melbourne, FL office for unbelievable service. Our sweet cat Mr.Bentley passed away suddenly. We were treated phenomenally in our time of grief and were extremely impressed with the facilities as well. We have found a lot of comfort in this process and in having Mr. Bentley back at home with us.
